My good friend Yeti has come up with a great idea, a half time show!!! "And we now switch our viewing audience to the Beach trap competition where the Swedish team is taking on the California beach bunnies!!!" Ahh what I could do if I only could get my rich uncle out of the poor house!!!

I apologise for my rudeness to DAM16SXS, it was unlike me and inexcusable. I'm sorry. I guess I got the number of shooters correct but they were not all shotgunners I think top level shooters are indeed athletes. I was a clay target judge at Atlanta 96, and those guys and gals who competed were in top physical shape, had to be to maintain their focus in the awful heat and humidity. I do not think Rosie O'Donnel would have stood much of a chance against Kim Rhode even if my friend Lloyd Woodhouse coached her! Apologetic Mike

Mike, I was also impressed with your post. Due, I think to a few dust-ups involving a small minority of the regular posters on this site, we seem to have developed an uncharacteristic rudeness here this Summer. I'm glad to see an attitude like yours...Geo

No one country is sending five trapshooters to the Olympics. Check your facts. ........Actually, the United States is sending seven- Ray Ycong, Lance Bade, Dominic Grazoli, Bret Erickson and (woman) Corey Cogdell for singles trap and Jeffery Halguin and Walton Eller for doubles trap. Plus- Kimberly Rhode for women's skeet and Vincent Hancock and Randal McLelland for men's skeet. They were featured on Shooting USA last week.

Mike, Apology accepted graciously and humbly offered back to you. We're all on the same team here and should try not to be so thin-skinned. Thanks Salopian, for chiming in with the facts so that we all may be well-informed by one who is truly in the know.

I don't recall any shooting events, other than the biathalon, ever being televised. Will trap and skeet be televised this time?

I doubt if they will be televised, so we'll just have to watch for the results.
