Hey! Hey! Hey! Watch the dirty talk guys. Anyway, if shooting all day under the pressure of the Olympics doesn't take agility, strength and stamina, I don't know what does. I was interested what make of guns the shooters used. I watched some of them on SHOOTING USA- some used Beretta, Kreighoff and Perazzi. I think the entire Italian team shoots Berettas. Any idea what the rest shoot?

No one country is sending five trapshooters to the Olympics. Check your facts. OK, I was wrong. Not the first time.

Too bad Trap hasn't approached the intensity of Formula One racing. I can see it now, the commentary something like this; "Well folks its a brilliant day here up first it’s the English team sporting their Holland & Holland's, their Purdey's from last years event left them lacking, the Italians with their customary Perazzi, have switched to the new Berettas, we'll see how well they perform; the Germans with their constant companion, the Kreighoff, the Irish team with their Rigbys!!!" Fans holding giant 20 foot flags in the stands cheering at every shot!! That would be well worth watching!!

Interviews in the press box, tell us Ken, world renown trap shooter in his own right, why exactly did the Italian team feel it necessary to switch to the Berettas after having so much success with the Perazzi?? "Well I don't know Kurt, but it seems to me that……." And in another maybe even bigger surprise is the Germans using their customary K80's but have switched to the new Federal Gold Medal shells, will that bring them luck because as you know…………" Nope trap will never get to that stage, too bad it would be interesting!!!

Or the lack of attire.
The word "gymnasium" comes from the Greek root "gymnos" meaning nude; the literal meaning of "gymnasium" is "school for naked exercise." Athletes in the ancient Olympic Games would participate in the nude.

Don't let this thread degenerate into a swearing war beteween mis-informed posters. We do have a team going to the Olympics. Possibly not our best team as most of us competitive clayshooters feel we are being ripped off by our National organisations and vote with our feet by not attending selection shoots.I could tell you about a real can of worms but I won't. But as you all probably know everything perfect originates in Shropshire including the modern Olympic games. Baron De Coubaton (spelling) took an idea to the Olympic committee after visiting Much Wenlock to see ' The Shropshire Olympics' founded by William Penny Brookes. Besides being a Proud Salopian , I am also an Olympian.Gold Medal in Olympic Trap. But my claim to fame is that I once met Dave Weber and Rabbit.
