AyA is rolling out a new exposed hammer designed dubbed the "Anniversary". Should be available later this year. We are a preferred AyA dealer and received a media kit on this model with everything but the price???

Here is a link to the gun on AyA's site:

I can't imagine they would be less than $15,000

Keep in mind, this is a Spanish gun. Hammerguns are less expensive to build than sidelock hammerless guns. I realize that this piece has ejectors (an anomaly for a hammergun, in my opinion). All things considered, including the decimated greenback, I say...$7000.

It is a pretty small run of guns and I am guessing 20K.

von, I don't think that you realize the greenback ratio.

I am getting ready to purchase an Arrieta 557 in 28 ga. That is thier least expensive gun and with the options that I want it will be near 6K

Seems like blatent advertising by a dealer to me, does anyone agree? At any rate, it's a darn fine looking gun, and the statement above "Keep in mind, this is a Spanish gun" is ridiculous. There are many very, very fine Spanish guns to be had, and AyA is one of the better makers. I have English, German, Italian, Belgian, and Spanish guns (I think that's all except some good ole' American autoloaders) and can speak first hand. The better Spanish guns rank with better guns anywhere. This one may not be a Purdey, but I would be delighted to have one. I think it'll come in between $15,000 and $20,000 US$.

What would be really really nice is if it had a safety. One of the things I like about doubles is that functional things such as safetys and triggers are typically the same between models and manufacturers (with some notable but uncommon exceptions). Having to remember to pull back the hammers (when you've just flushed a noisy pheasant from under foot) is just another PITA untypical thing to remember. They should have equipped it with a safety, preferably an upper tang mounted safety. At least it has double triggers. Other then my complaint about the lack of a safety it's certainly a beautiful gun!

Chief,
Yes, I agree about the advertising...and that it's fine looker. I'm not offended by this type of promoting and I just think there should be some guidelines that allow it and keep it under control by Dave. I appreciate some of these "advertisements" as they can be informative about what's out there on the market. Maybe Dave can limit the number of these 'promotions' and collect a fee for them? ...or not. It's kinda hard to say Dave should limit sellers of guns when our membership is made up of many talented craftmen that garner some business here (and I would not have that any other way). Maybe it's as straight forward as saying this kind of post has to be in the "for sale section"?
