Remington40x Sidelock Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,531 Likes: 20 Warrington, PA	My 1880s Hollis 10 gauge hammergun, which is in wonderful shape considering its age (or even ignoring its age), doesn't have springs. I don't know whether it started out with them or not, but the absence of them has not proven to be a problem in limited shooting so far.
