I thought I would update this post with another Collath drilling I found at the Maryland Arms Collector Show a few weeks ago.
I was quite suprised to see the condition of this Collath upon initial examination. I guess the fact that both the shotgun gauge and rifle caliber were obsolete so the previous owner just left in storage? Anyway, it is chambered for C1 which is very close to 12 ga. however a 12 will not fit nor can be shot. The rifle is 9.3x82r which is an obsolete black power round used for hunting medium game..deer, hogs..etc. Neither round poses a problem for me and I will have the 12 operational here fairly soon. Bertram is currently manufacturing brass for the rifle so IF I ever can find time, I may take up the project...:-)..
Anyway, I know these arms are not for everyone however, I really enjoy hunting with them...along with Parkers, Lefevers...yes..I guess I am just infected with SxS disease.
Raimey, I owe you some pics... hold on.. I will get them soon to you.
