Maybe you didn't see my questions so I will ask again. I know you don't want the motives of this proposal to look fraudulent.
Where are you, the MWF, and the BSUSA currently fighting to have lead banned from target shooting, where it has the heaviest concentrations and unquestionably a far greater impact on the environment than any hunting land?
How long has it been since you personally stopped using lead, and since both the MWF and BSUBA required their members to not use lead for any shooting or fishing?
Since the MWF and BSUBA want to take lead away from all hunters in the state, I am curious what the members themselves have done in that vein. I can't see anywhere on their websites where they make members take an oath to not shoot lead. Can you point me to where I can see that? If they did, it would say something about practicing what you preach, being more than self-serving hypocrites, and all that.

Some more respectful communication maybe would have brought some meaningful understanding. But for this mob, you'all just need to stew in your own spleen juice through the summer. Umbrage at a few folks as an excuse to not answer pertinent and civil questions? Tell me how I can read this other than as weakly avoiding the issues raised, taking cover behind a feeble face-saving parting shot.

Gun owners, hunters and shooters were tossed a bone, as in the DC thing. Just as we're about to munch away....! You guys seem to not know what inning this game is in - watch for that bad call on a third strike, its coming!

This will be my last post on this subject, by way of clarification. I contacted Mr. Deeble as a means of trying to establish a "point person" in the State of Montana, as we are in other states, to try to stay on top of proposed legislation affecting our ability to enjoy our passion for old guns. We, here in Kansas are trying to stay ahead of any legislation, so that if it does get enacted, maybe we can have at least a workable compromise. At no time, did I ask Mr. Deeble for any names, I dont care who they are. At that time I was unaware of his true purpose. It quickly became clear that he wasnt interested in anything but his own agenda. To be fair to BSUBA, they have done some good things over time. I am not sure that they havnt been sold a bill of goods by Deeble who is a past president of that organization. If we, all of us, are going to beat this stuff, we have to take on more than the deebles....Get active, beat them at their own game..I am now working with a former legislator/hunter in the State of Montana who doesnt have a biased agenda, and lives in Helena.

It seems that all the groups looking into a potential lead ban have bought into the "steel is just fine in all modern guns" myth. Here it is, in a paper prepared by the Nontoxic Shot Advisory Committee for the Minnesota DNR:
"Experts currently believe that modern steel loads are safe in any modern gun regardless of choke . . . "
Grouse Guy, if you're still listening . . . certainly if you follow this website you should know better, and you should take the necessary steps to correct that statement in your resolution. Please see the Browning website, to which I referred earlier. And I'd be glad to furnish you with a copy of the information that accompanies my Parker Reproduction, stating that steel should not be used in Repros with full choke barrels. So we're talking Brownings made well into the 1970's, Parker Reproductions made in the 1980's . . . and those do not qualify as "modern guns"? Proposals such as yours will not get the support of really knowledgeable shooters and hunters, such as you find on this website, when inaccurate or misleading information is included. Are those "experts" going to pay for someone's Browning Superposed or Parker Reproduction in the event of damage due to shooting steel?
