With apologies in advance to Dave, I'm posting these three resources regarding the great self defense debate, in the hopes that the gentle and forebearing members here, bursting with goodwill and concern for their fellows, will have a mutually available set of data and citations from which to cheerfully engage one another in educational efforts.

Since one's life, family, future income, freedom from possibly prison, and a lot of other unpleasantness associated with an act of self defense would appear to me to be worth investing the price of a flat of shells, for expert-top-of-line national level training CD's, I will leave it to the assembled to decide what suits them.

Each company has it's own 'best', but the Ayoob info has the deepest set of legal concerns and advice. Thunder Ranch and Gunsite are 'no bull', no mall ninjas need apply, highly regarded tactical training operations.

I know we all enjoy a rousing discussion on subjects, but honest to God, I am somewhat concerned for the future tactical and legal welfare of some of the recent contributors in Lowell's latest twelve page [and no doubt, growing] string. Yes, there was some excellent advice, but also some assumptions and simplifications that won't wash in today's climate.

I really, really don't want to argue with anyone, nor is there any reason to add my further two cents to such an important Off Topic, but one that gets relatively little 'professional' evaluation -- say...as much as identification of heretofore unknown Elsie model, etc.

So, in that spirit, I place the foregoing three resources before y'all. Many of you are prolly quite versed already in this lit, but many aren't even really aware that it exists. I would just hope, tho, that everyone take a bit of time to review what is available, what is considered to be important training matter, and to even possibly decide that obtaining a CD and learning from it might be as important as one-upping one's fellows on the cyber-go-round.

Relax; we're all experts here.
