Hello Forum!

I have had this Ithaca 12 guage SXS for years. I belive it is a grade 4 as that is what is on the watertable. The SN is 435890. It has been a great friend in the field for years.

Many thanks.

kcordell:

Your partial serial number falls in the NID range for 1926. With your serial number, Mr. Walter Snyder possibly can give you the info you need. Although a few pics here would help.

What gauge and how long are the barrels?? Is it a single trigger or double trigger? Straight grip or pistol grip? Ejectors?

Nice, very nice. Looks just like the pics in Walt's book with a colour photo of the gold washed triggers. Also it has snail's ears, or whatever the indicators were referred to. I'm going to guess w/ the additional pin near the hinge-pin that it has ejectors?

Kind Regards,

In my years of looking at NIDs, I'd say a "field" configured 12-gauge, like this gun, in Grade 4E or higher is rarer then one tricked out with all the options for Trap or Skeet.

Gun 435890 is listed as a 4 grade(no ejectors) with 26 inch barrels. Still that way?

Interesting. My experience has been the opposite. I have 2 4E NIDs that are 'field' configuration. It took a while to find one in Skeet/Trap configuration. Vent rib being the most significant target option, beaver tail next, at least IMHO. Perhaps a regional thing.
