GregSY, this has nothing to do with a vendetta. do you answer the door every time someone knocks regardless of who you see is there? do you open every piece of spam email? do you pick up the phone for every single 1-800 or 1-866 #? communication in any form exists for your convenience, not the other guys. when you can tell at a glance that there's nothing on the other end but banal, inane comments that add no value and have no relevance to whatever's going on at the time you don't waste your time on it. your choice, your prerogative. this is the same thing. nothing vindictive about it. no one else's priveleges are being abrogate. they can write anything they please. but they don't have a right to make you read it.

The problem is if all don't quit responding to the folks you still get their rebutals to the offender. You don't see the offenders post but you still see the replys to him which may make you think the replys are to someone else in the post.

Got to go with our old Amigo, Will. In the past we had a poster on this board I found so obnoxious I placed him on ignore. The whole value of the thread was lost so many times I finally had to remove the ignore block to make any sense of what else was being said. On another board one of the most vicious trolls on the internet is a regular poster. I'll read the thread till his name appears and then, knowing all logical discussion has ended, I'll just skip the entire thread. Much like I do here when the subject is hijacked by non contributing but very active posters.

Can't really agree with Cary's point. The two nuisances I chose to ignore never add anything to a thread. Not reading their garbage takes nothing useful away from the original thread. Mosquitoes and ants are not a valuable part of a picnic.

Destry,
Take some nice close up picturs of those ducks. Are the bibs going with you? Bringing the 10 ga Parker?

Jimmy W,
I couldn't agree with you more.

treblig1958,
I hope you were only kidding about those guys. I think it is great that someone posts a nice restored gun, or has the knowledge and experience to it.
As far as posting a picture of an expensive new gun, good for them, it shows they can afford it and I don't blame them for "showing it off".

As far as hidding a few peoples posts, I like to read them, I don't think that it is right to bash someone though. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and sometimes it just goes too far.

This is a great place and we should keep it that way.

Thanks Mark, I've placed the three notable A'holes on my ignore list and makes for a much pleasanter read. As nothing they ever say is pertinent to the thread it doesn't suffer in anyway.

Me too my large gauge waterfowler amigo from Ypsi-I found myself into a "payback" with our Homeless amigo-when I first came here he "hammered" me about my habit of deleting posts-one thing to offer constructive criticism/advise to others, even strangers- but as a gentleman should- others here have suggested I shorten or edit, and minimize those *&^^% quotation marks, and in the spirit of gun ownering fellowship, I have paid attention to their suggestions-but enough is enough. You said it first, I may seconded it- we all need to work together- that 5 to 4 decision is NOT gonna stop the anti-s and if we are divise, we stand to lose! And in the words of Col. Saito: "Be Happy In Your Work"!! RWTF
