Just got mine today.
Paid in Full 5 Nov. 2007.
Delivered and opened and fondled.
5lbs 9 oz. 28" M&F (.012" & .024") , PG, Beavertail, DT, standard wood. Nicely finished with a subdued satin wood finish , pretty well filled pores, excellent inletting, not proud, not below. Engraving is sharp and looks nice with the case color. Overall it appears to be a keeper. will try and get out with it in the next week or so.

Yes, nice gun, Brian. I love that BTFE. What are you going to use it for? Hunting? Sporting clays? Whichever, it should be a nice gun. Good luck with it.

I also just noticed the serial number on it. Would it be the 36th one made?

The wood has just about right blend of swirls w/o crossin' into "gigolo grade territory". Nice setup for high volume dove shootin'.

Brian, Congrat's and thanks for the pictures!

These are the best pictures I've seen of the few 28ga's posted so far. IMO Tony did some really positive changes to the 28 over the 20ga.

First off the engraving is far superior to the launch edition, the barrel wedges look like they are actually part of the gun rather than an after thought, the case colors are beautiful and makes me wonder if he isn't having Turnbull do them or he hired someone away from Turnbull. The checkering looks much cleaner & absent the burnt background from the laser cutting. It also looks like they slimmed down the trigger profile, so they now look like double gun triggers should. Now if they would shave down the rolled edge trigger guard they would be 100% in cleaning up the whole package.

Nice gun and I wish you many great times with it!

Thanks again for posting the pictures!

I'll be darned. You got it! Maybe it's just my impression from looking at a few pictures of 20s and the one RBL 20 I've seen close up but the wood to metal fit on that radiused stock shoulder looks superior also. That area on so many of the 20s looked as if there were a hard place or flat in the radius as if the casting or forging wasn't large enuf to allow machinging a fair curve. The whole package lookswise strikes me with more intensity than did the 20s.
