Thanks,

The engraver, Michael Collins, purchased the gun. I am pretty sure he got it from Anglo American Sporting, but I don't know how much he paid for it. On one of my posts I gave the link to his website. If you contacted him he would be happy to help you. I'm also pretty sure there has been at least one price increase since then.

Thanks,

Hack

Lovely, I'm waiting for an AYA 20 bore to be finished for me, a No.1 deluxe self opener, delivered in the white and being engraved by a chap in Birmingham (UK). I have had exhibition wood put on that and hopefully I can get the checkering done in London and it will be ready for November. I've been waiting 15 months already !!!

Hi HackCW:

Great looking gun!

Are you the same HackCW that was buying all of that really nice wood off E Bay about a year ago? Where does one purchase that type of wood and what would one expect to pay for a piece of that colour?

Greeat looking work!

Franchi

Hack,

Do you have any photos of the blank before you turned it into that wonderfull stock? Always hard for me to envision what to expect in the end from the flat sides of a blank.

And just to give me some idea, what sort of $ range of blank cost are we seeing, and stock work incl checkering?

Always been tempted to buy a nice gun with so-so word and think about ending up with something like this one.

Franchi:

I go in spells buying wood on E-Bay. Usually on my Turkish, which is what the AYA is stocked in, I either import it directly from Turkey, or, more recently I have purchased from Luxus Walnut. (www.luxuswalnut.com)You can go to their website and see what the current pricing on top grade Turkish is.

Thanks,

Hack

I'm pretty sure I have some pictures of the blank before it was turned. If I can dig them up I'll send them to you. In the post above I referred Franchi to the Luxus Walnut website, which is where I got that wood.

As far as the labor cost I would rather deal with that off the forum. You can send me an e-mail to thehack@msn.com, and I'll get back to you if you want me to.

Thanks,

Hack
