I have very limited experience on this subject, yet can add a bit of relative data I think. I have an Alex Henry double in .360bpe. Several very knowledgeable shooters with lots of experience with both BP and British doubles told me I would not get her to regulate with black. Well I am stubborn if nothing else and just had to see for myself. I was able to fit 60 grs of powder and a cardboard wad in my case if I used a drop tube. This load compressed aprox 3/16" shot very well indeed. To the point of the sights and very tight groups. I was working on a 1" group when I pulled the 4th shot on this target. In my limited experience, I think velocities close to originals can be obtained using Goex express. This is just 1 mans story mind you.
