jOE, a strip of self-adhesive Velcro "hook" also makes good non-skid for slick buttplates, checkered butts. Sticks a little too well to vest straps, however. COngrAtUlAtIOns on your craft frenzy.

j0e, could be any sidelock, how about a close-up - for all we know it could be just another W&C Scott gun!

Lowell it's just another W&C Scott.

jOe,

CJO posted the full how-to. I will try to make it available as an attachment tomorrow.

Would not come up in the search.....or I am just too tired to see it!

It was an old post you had about leather covered pads...I looked back through your old posts I found it but link in the thread to the original thread didn't work.

I almost got lost in your Monte Carlo post...

Joe,...those pictures were on a different hosting site and are now gone. I don't have them here but have others from different jobs I can show you.
If I may critique,...I think you're close but you should fit the pad to the wood and allow for the exact thickness of the leather all around,.. I use fairly thick leather, about .040" I find it more durable and unless I have to make a pad over 1" thick I don't usually have any problems with it
Also , curved pads can be done but unless the back of the pad itself is curved to match the wood and remain rigid it'll be difficult to get it just right

I do not glue the plugs in. They are long enough and friction does just fine. When I get home I will forward some pics of the holes and the plugs. I am in Madison Wisc. this week.
