That's what some guys do to keep their item at the top of the page...kinda silly and selfish looking to me.

Running closer than I thought it would be. As for the PM function forget about that, pretend you are placing a add anywhere's else and put you're real email and phone # , how hard is that?

Actually TTT and BTT "mean" nothing to the program except that characters are in the message block triggering the usual response of reordering the threads such that the most recently active is first. Type in Gonzo or Big Bird, hit submit; same result. You could type in "To be fair, my ad is really old and should be at the bottom." or "Oh dear, my ad seems to be on top again; how'd that happen?" and get the same result.

Dave, is there a way, during registration or whatever, that the seller can speicify On Line Replies or Not ? Best of both worlds.

I am strongly in favor of online replies, and equally opposed to the boorish behavior exhibited by some on the board. I'd be inclined to ban the boors rather than eliminate the ability to reply or comment online.
Without online repies and comments, we would not have the ability to point a potential buyer to the perfect gun, such as the recent posts about the 25" V. Bernardelli 20 gauge that will be someone's perfect grouse gun. Collectible pumps should be OK here. We are all in this together. Many thanks to Dave.

Dave.......just kick out all the trouble makers and be done with it! Won't hurt my feelings one bit!
What happened to posting a topic and having civilized people respond in a manner that doesn't hurt someone else's feelings. Some(not me)have thin skin and some(me)have rhino leather. I could care less what people think about me or any topic i post. But...it's a pity that a good man like yourself has to get involved in such childish behavior. JMHO!

I am in favor of responses espescially if you are looking for something. My messenging does not work either and the replies have directed me to the item I was looking for.
Posting BTT says, " I really need to sell this item and I am more important than others posting here. Add some new info on your item, post a picture or two reduce the price, something informative to move it back to the top. Oh, if you have had a response that would put it BTT.

Jim, my thought was that the seller could check a box in advance, either allowing the comments on line or just allowing only the for sale info and contact info. that he submits. Just "asking" is not going to do what you may want it to do, it has to be done "electronically" by Dave's setup.
