check your serial number again. Serial # 27011 should have been made early in 1880 according to Crawford & Whatley's "WC Scott Gunmakers". 1888 would have likley have been in the 43000-44000 range.

The gun and patents do seem to fit a 1884-1888 manufacture B grade Excellentia Triplex (fitted with the Scott triplex lever grip).
That is shown and detailed on pages 42/43 of the same book.
The triplex lever grip (intercepting dolls head) was patented in 1875 and used until about 1892 when it was replaced with an "improved bolt" ie a square greener type crossbolt.

The "block safety" was intercepting seers of the Needham & Hinton patent for back action guns 1879.

According to the example price structure for scott guns ca 1883-1897 Premier was the top quality gun in each of the Hammer/Hammerless bar or back action categories. The Monte Carlo B was the lowest of the bar action hammerless with Excellentia then Unique and Auto Ejector models in ascending grades of bar action hammerless (apparently inclusive of back actions in earlier years).

The higher grade the guns were primarly the more engraving and better wood with a few niceties thrown in for good measure.

The 1893 list price in America for a bar action Excellentia was $250, a Monet Carlo "B" was $200, and a Premier extractor $375. If you wanted a Premier Imperial Ejector it would have cost $475.

The Excellentia Triplex Lever Grip was produced from 1884-1888.
Apprently the Excellentia Switched to a bar action in 1888 and was produced until 1892.

During the late 1880s/1890s Scott made many changes/improvements and switched to bar actions.

Thre is a note that many lower grade back action guns had been marked with the Moore & Harris name,

There is mention hat from 1872 - 1897 Scott marked ONLY the "A" and "B" quality guns with the address ofthe London showroom (10 Great Castle Road, Regent Circus). Most lower quality guns were only marked "London" except for a few specialty guns which had the full address.

Scott graded guns as A, B, C grades with A being highest/full coverage engraving and select wood and C being fairly plane with border engraving and perhaps a bit of light scroll in open areas.
