Is there anything you can legally hunt with an eight gauge double shotgun in the USA? From what I have read I can't but thought I would double check. {no pun intended}

Depends upon the state. Waterfowl is a big NO!! In some states everything is a no. Most states you can shoot something. Mostly mammals. I loved mine while I had it.

Yup, depends on the state. Read the book. Many states will allow you to carry an eight for ruffed grouse or squirrel. I'm not sure about tame mallards but I would like to shoot a bunch of them at long range with an eight.

I've only made a cursory glance at the rulebook but I believe, at present, you could shoot a turkey (in Texas). I'm not a big hunter so I haven't pursued it much. What on Earth would I do with a turkey if I did kill it? Hopefully there'd be someone around who wanted it so I could run off to Rudy's and get a barbecued turkey sandwich.

How about at close range with that big 8 - and to hell with sporting. Tame ducks indeed!

Greg.......you don't know what your missing with wild turkey. I don't care where you go for barbecued turkey, it will never compare to the real thing! The only wild game my wife will cook or eat.
