A sizeable number of forum members appear to have gotten into rust bluing work at home. I'm wondering if you have explored the use of the process beyond that of rebluing double barrels and, if so, have you been satisfied with the results?

Where my mind's at is that some of our early pump shotguns were originally rust blued. The earlier Model 12 comes to mind, but am unsure about Model 31 and early Ithaca Model 37s. I have some early examples of these two models here that would respond to careful polishing and am wondering how a rust blue approach would work out.

All thoughts, input and opinions appreciated.

I've done model 94 Winchesters, muzzle loaders, single barrel shotguns, and have a couple of model 37's waiting to be done. Personally, I think they all look as good or better than they did originally.
