Hello Bellefe,

Unfortunately it is all I have. It was sent to me by a fellow board member four years
ago (July 31st, 2004) and I cannot remember who it was.

I agree it would be fantastic to see the "upper" models. Sorry.

Below is a link to the Shotgun World, Spanish shotgun forum with photos of a Sarasqueta Model 14 over-under. I looked the gun over last year when it was for sale and saved the pictures because it is an unusual gun and quite nicely done. The Sarasqueta 12E listed previously in the shotgun world post is my little 20 gauge.

Thanks for the link. That is one gorgeous gun. Looks like a Woodward action. I've been trying to find a Model 14 for over 6 years. Must have missed the listing

I am impressed with these high end Victor Sarasqueta from the early 1950's. Do you know what was the asking price and who sold it?

I heard if they were up for sale would be in the 8k plus range

Thanks Bellefe

He was asking $7900 and he got it. I couldn't come up with the $8K at the time, and he didn't want any trades. I really liked the gun, and kept the pictures so that I had something to compare to if another came up.

It is the Woodward action. It was/is a wonderful example of what everyone chatters speculatively about....thus creating an aura around the Sarasqueta O/U.

I have a really nice Ugartechea O/U that puts AYA's or Merkels in a second seat, with its fit, finish and engraving. It is another 50's beauty. My little 20g 12E is a 1954 gun. Noticeable quality in the wood, engraving and fit finish. I agree that the 50's guns really represent some unusual treasures.

Is your catalog from the 50's in color? I would really like to get a catalog from the early 50's that shows some good pictures.

Lads, my only Victor Sarasqueta double is a 20 bore imported by Stoeger in the 50's --- a Zephyr 4E. Engraving is almost absent but the metal work and woodwork and all around fitting are worthy of a very high grade gun. Just my 2 cents worth. Chops

It was me who sent JayCee the photo-copy of the catalogue page referencing his VS 7E. I have three complete catalogues. The 1952 catalogue is complete and original, but is composed of line drawings in black and white, not colour. It contains every one of VS's guns, from single shot, thru box-locks, to 8 models of side-locks, the double rifle, and the model 14 over/under. Along with it, there is a 1960 price list,in US dollars, as well as a letter to a gun dealer in Toronto, signed in Victor Sarasqueta's own flamboyant hand. The three items were sent to the dealer in 1960 after he inquired about pricing. I have to assume that VS was stillI using their 1952 catalogue, which contains no pricing, in 1960, and was issuing a separate price list with it.I treasure the lot!

Ron, thank you for confirming my recollection that it was you who graciously sent
the catalogue page and price list four years ago to this day (7/31/2004).

Best,

JC
