All of the Ithaca NID's I've seen have had forend latches, however I just saw one (field grade, non ejector) with what appears to be a snap on forend (didn't actually get to handle the gun). Were they made both ways? Thanks for your help. Bill Frech

All of the field NIDs with "snail-ear" cocking indicators should have the latch fore-end...Geo

True for non-ejector guns but ejector NIDs continued with the 'D&E' latch until the end of production.
