I think you're onto something, j0e! Who needs alkanet root? Mike yOu sure that's a monkey.... Kinda reminds me of Jim Legg last time he got a bad case of the red ass. (I'm just glad Jim can't see this).

I noticed the thread has taken a comedic turn so if anyone is still interested this is what I like to use,... I just picked up another hide today, supply was getting low, this one is a bit thinner it varies between .025" and .030" the previous one was .030" to .040",....the whole thing cost $ 80.00 CJ
The taste of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten.........

re: AIRTIGHT Bag Seasoning, if it's used on the hide prior to stretching will it create a problem with the barge cement adhering to the leather?
thanks, Rob

Rob, The one time I've used it, I let it dry for 48hrs strapped down onto the Pad. Contact Cement worked OK....BUT. I did'nt Dye the Skin enough prior to using the Stretch-Stuff.It came out "Piebald"!! Worked out 'Sorta OK' 2nd time. Will stay with'Traditional Methods" as in ShotG. Technicana.cc
