I was in picking up some ammo at my local dealer when I spied adouble sitting in the corner behind his counter.
I asked to look at it and immediately noticed it was missing the foreend.

It is an Ithaca hammerless. On the watertable it has 12 S and 2ND (this is underlined) The serial # is 144893 and it has steel barrels not damascus. The steel barrels are what caught my eye. The barrels and action are in nice shape but the stock is a little worn.

Does anyone know if a forend may be found anywhere? My thoughts are this could be a nice upland gun.

If it is a Crass (hopefully Walter will tell me) Can I just use the barrels on a Crass that I have. (mine is damascus)

I think it is a Minier. Barrels won't fit a Crass. The Minier has a rib extension like your Flues. A fore end will have to come from a junker unless some one here happens to have one. Not an easy fix so buy accordingly.
