Whatever BATF says, the problems are getting worse with UPS and FedEx.
In some areas UPS won't even accept a gun any longer--I'm told the Washington, D. C. area is particularly bad. I believe the UPS reg's now state that even if you are trying to ship a gun in for repair work, and it will be returned to you, it must originate with an FFL. This is pure garbage, IMHO!
I'm old enough to remember the gun control laws as passed in 1968. Many of us saw this coming then. Welcome to liberal/wacko land.
Though slow, I now use USPS Registered, Insured mail. It takes awhile to get there but it is sent under lock and key and is signed for whenever it changes hands. Not necessarily so for the private carriers. As many of you may know, shipping handguns is another story altogether. With FedEx and UPS they must go Overnight Air. Costs me $60+ just to send a pistol to Wilson Combat for some custom work.
