You hear about them in the sports pages every day. What is the best shooting streak you've ever been on?(clays, birds, whatever)
I'll probably curse myself by saying this, but I've shot a double on huns the last 5 times I've hunted.... the last two were scotch doubles; the most recent falling on the second shot of a double... a triple on huns! I'm worried that when I start missing like I normally do I'll start looking to lucky socks, hats, or voodoo, who knows....

I spent an afternoon at American Shooting Center in Houston squadded with Bob Brister as he shot a practice round, and I merely trailed him and watched in awe. He was a gentleman, offered pointers and didnt laugh. I watched as he broke perhaps 10 pairs straight at one station, incomers, true pairs that crossed, one shot per pair. He would wait until the birds crossed and shoot. He called it "Clubbing" a pair. Very impressive.
The next day I was out on the course again, shooting a formal round, and inspired by Brister, was able to club all 5 pairs at that same station. I did it again 4 times in a row at the next station that offered the opportunity. Man, was I hot!
That was perhaps 4 years ago, and I have never been able to do it more than once or twice since.

Come on folks... this could be a fun and interesting topic.
Or maybe misplaced modestly prevents some of our really talented members form sharing a bit...
Anyone out there...?

I have broken four pairs with one shot each on a SC course with my L.C. 16ga. That was the first time and last time I cleand that station with half of the shells required. It was fun and I am sure that I will never do it again. My timing was right on the money and I was lucky that day. Doing it once is good though. I won't forget that day. Regards. Gordon

A couple of years ago I took my holland & Holland 16 bore hammer gun out.
It was the windiest day of the year - blowing a howling gale and as soon as the partridges lifted off the ground, they streaked skywards at speeds and angles one could only marvel at.
The only option was to totally concentrate, lose yourself in the moment and swing the gun as fast as possible, really pushing the swing and lead as far as you dare before the birds were away and out of range.
When the drive was over, we picked up seven dead birds behind my peg - I had fired seven shots. I have never shot like that again and doubt I ever will.

I once tried to go 8 for 8 on doves in Argentina, using a matched pair of doubles, and got up to 13 before I missed one. This took all of a couple of minutes.

Some 10 to 12 years ago, I was fortunate for the chukars to fly just right. I shot three triples on that trip with a 20 ga. Montefeltro. Had not done it again until this year and I shot 2 triples out of two covey rises in the same canyon. Wish I could do that all the time, and it would not require so much rough walking.
