I am deploying again this summer and will be at Dix for about a month or so. Want to know if there are any palces in the area to shoot on any off day I may have

Brian, I don't know if this is to far for you but we shoot sporting on Sundays. Last sign up about 2PM. About 60 miles south of FT. Dix. http://www.quintonsportsmensclub.com/

Fort Dix used to have its own trap and skeet ranges on base. I shot there 6 or 7 years ago with my Dad (retired military - 33 years). They also had a rifle range with some guys shooting a Civil War style cannon! Lots of noise and smoke and really cool to watch.

I will check with my Dad to see what he knows.

Trap and skeet are available at Pine Belt Sportsmans Assoc.in Indian Mills/Shamong, right outside of Medford Lakes. About 15-20 miles away from Dix. The NJ State Trapshoot is being held there this week! They shoot Trap every Wed and 1st and 3rd Sundays.Skeet every Wed. and Sunday.
