I have a 20ga Armas Bost side by side, Richland Arms marked. Single trigger, ejectors, PG, good overall condition. One of the ejectors is broken where the shaft is thinnest at the retaining screw cutout. The small broken-off end piece is missing, of course. I want to get it back into shooting condition.
My first thought was that an extremely skilled, highly paid TIG welder could weld a piece of steel rod onto the existing broken extractor shaft, and grind it down to match the original shape. Expensive, and I would probably get 2 or 3 uses before it broke again.
My second thought was to make it an extractor-only gun. No great loss, being ejector-less. Remove the springs in the forend, and replace both ejectors with a similarly shaped one-piece extractor. I don't think it has to be specifically for an Armas Bost, I've seen some extractors installed in Laurona and other Spanish shotguns that could possibly work. Shared parts source? (The owners of the other shotguns weren't willing to part with their weapons for me to experiment with.)
Unfortunately, Spanish shotgun parts are not floating around the gun shows, anymore. None of the usual used gun parts suppliers has them. A year ago, I won an ebay auction for a bunch of odd-ball extractors, and the package never showed up; lost in the mail. No luck, so far.
Does anybody have a source for Spanish 20ga shotgun extractors? (Not that I would refuse an ejector.)
Thank you.
