I am also into ICD's and have polled here for info in the past as well. A frequent poster on shootingsportsman.com has a beautiful photo of his ICD 16. It was my impression that Dakota Arms bought the rights to the Ithaca design.?
I always find it interesting the feelings about the Italian vs the US manufactured ICD. I have one of each and don't see much difference but they are drastically different grades so the subtleties may be masked. Good luck in your pursuit.

23Pair,

As far as I have read SL could not come to terms on the name with Dakota, and he still holds the rights to it. I could be very wrong. I am by no means an expert. Do you know which ICD's are from Italy and which were made here? I need a 16 gauge and a .410 to round out my collection. The two I own are both 4E's.

As far as I know acc. to what I've read here the sn#470XXX are the European and the #471XXX are the "more coveted" American. No slam there but as I stated earlier I cannot see alot of difference between my 2. Cabela's just had a 4E .410 that was tempting but I have a few too many fires burning now. Try contacting the Firing Line in Colorado. They may have a few left "in the safe" as he stated when I bought one from them a couple years ago... He had a 7E .410 that he offered after he went to see what he had in stock!!!

Good info thank you. I think a 7E is a little more money then I would be wanting to put out. I would like a 4E .410 for sure. I will look into firing line when I am ready for my next buy. Right now I am prepairing to buy my Kolar Sporting Clays gun when I am home on vacation. Thanks again I appreciate the info.
