I have a 20 gauge Lefever Nitro Special that I need some help on.
Serial is S2873xx, has 28" barrels

1. What is chamber length for this model(or what should it be) - is it 2 3/4" or less?

2. Chokes are marked 2 and 4 - is this mod and full?

Thanks for the help.

Duke

That's a 1929 gun choked Mod/Full. The Ithaca NID 12s and 20s were chambered for 2 3/4" shells about 1927. Walt Snyder or Researcher will know about the Nitro Specials- you might PM one of them but I'd have a gunsmith measure to know for sure.

Should be 2 3/4 but check it. 2/4 is mod/full

Thanks for the info. It is a nice little double. Looking forward to quail hunt with it. I'll get it measured for sure.
