No. 126, with CC, SS, SF, DT, 14 3/4 4X black walnut, ordered 9/26/05 arrived today to a very warm welcome. Gents, I haven't shot it yet, but it appears to be a very nice gun. It's the first one I've seen in the flesh and I've scrutinized the heck out of it.
It has all the engraving advertised, and an exceptionally nicely checkered top lever and safety button. It's a hair muzzle-heavy and weighs 6#2oz. Ejectors will throw snapcaps a good 10 feet, and they'll land within 3 feet of one another. The case coloring does not show a lot of wild colors, but it's rich looking and makes the "engraving" look a little more precise than it actually is, although it's about the best of its type I've seen. Even the machine cut checkering is outstanding. So far, only thing I'd change about this gun is the overly plasticized/shiny stock finish. CSMC has clearly tried to do a first class job on this and if the gun shoots as well as it looks and is finished, they deserve an A+.

Congrats! That's one more out of the way . Mine was ordered 11/01, and as of about 3 weeks ago, had not yet been scheduled

Congradulation on getting your RBL! I see #127 is posted over on SSM board. His was ordered 10-13-05 ninteen day's after your's and only one serial # after yours. I've seen one posted ordered on the 9-21-05 with a real low two digit # and one delivered this week ordered on the same day 9-21-05 that was a three digit # I sure wish I could figure out how CSMC is going about this.
I called about my 9-28-05 order last week. All I could find out was that it is the shop being made.

Sorry about the double post. The first one did it on it's own before I was finished.

ruffin, Congrats Man! Pics if you can, please!
dogon, I'm also reading the RBL delivery tea leaves - about like reading the side of the cereal box while eating breakfast; nothing else to do while I'm sitting here - and it looks like the first batch was the early order, PIF, single trigger guns and this batch is early order, PIF, double trigger guns.

Yeti, You may have your finger on the pulse of this. The last guns delivered have been DT. I'm just interested in watching how this play's out. One thing for sure "if you ordered early thinking that you would get a real low # you may be in for a surprise" Not that three digit #'s are high.I just would have thought first day orders would be two digit. This is interesting that orders nineteen days apart are only one number from each other.

Ruffin, Glad to hear your RBL arrived. If CSM is building batches of similar guns, at least now I have hope. I ordered mine the first week of October last year, and it's exactly the same configuration as your gun. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be getting a call soon. I'll add my name to the list of folks asking you to post photos when you get the chance. Again, congratulations on getting your RBL.

I ordered mine PIF on 9/21/05 and received it about a month ago. It is serial #27 and configured with CC, SS, SF, DT, 14 3/4 Exhibition black walnut. I'm not to sure Yeti's assessment on the batch processing is accurate. I agree with Ruffin's comments on the quality of the RBL. The gun killed a Chukar the first time I pulled the trigger. I'm heading out this morning for my second trip to the field with it.
