Bamboozler, a "hidden game scene" is a bird, animal, or dog engraved into a scroll background in a way that the scroll is not separated from the game scene by a border, nor is the depth or character different from the scroll. On first glance, the game scene seems to be part of the scroll. I find this engraving variation very impressive. There are examples in The Parker Story, the Parker Reproduction brochure that illustrates Geoffrey Gournet's work, and in some of the voluminous and expensive books illustrating the work of Italian engravers.
