Sometime ago I bought a very nice W.W. Greener FH25 12 bore from a good friend. The gun was in excellent condition and has alot of really cool features (Facile Princeps action, ejectors, 30" barrels, light weight, etc), the only thing wrong with the gun was a severely cracked/broken stock...it look like someone tried to bend the stock to give it some cast on and it snapped at the wrist. I decided to have this gun restocked. After saving a few nickels I bought a decent blank of english walnut that fit the bill for a Greener, proper grain flow thru the head (maximum strength so no cracks develop around the safety) and proper flow thru the wrist area, I looked at a number of blanks before buying this one, it was tough finding one that met the criteria. I sent the gun out to my stockmaker, according to him its coming along nicely, it has taken a little longer than usual due to the complexity of inletting the Greener side safety among other things that are unique to Greeners built on the Facile Princeps. The project is almost done, some building up of the stock finish, rust bluing the heel and toe plates, assembley, etc. Here is a pic of how the stock is coming along.
The forend may seem to be a different shade, its the light. The forend was cut from the same blank as the stock and is an exact match.
