My "Old Unbreakable" Valmet 412 finally broke on me, specifically the upper ejector on the 20 gauge barrels. So, I need a set of ejectors and springs for those barrels, and I might lay in a 12 gauge set too, just in case. Tikka 412 and 512 mechanical parts are said to be identical. Gun Parts, Inc has only some stocks. Bennelli/Beretta and the successor to Cape Outfitters, the most recent Tikka importer and distributor respectively, do not have spares. Can anyone steer me to a supplier of Valmet or Tikka mechanical parts in the US, or -- in desperation -- in Finland?

Pete, a thousand thanks for this lead. I have just ordered the 12 gauge ejectors but the 20 gauge set remains elusive, and I still need a source. The other question is why, after scrolling endless pages for "shotgun parts" and the like on Google and Ask.com, why this source did not surface? All I know is that DoublegunBBS scores again. What a great place for shooters!

As a followup for other Valmet shooters, Russ Gould at the web address above lists a number of parts and accessories for Valmet/Tikka 412s, including barrels and scope mounts. Although 20 gauge ejectors were not available I ordered a set in 12 gauge just to be on the safe side. I found Russ most responsive to my needs and questions, and my order arrived in a timely fashion. He had at least one other customer who needs 20 ga. ejectors and is contacting the maker (Marocchi) to see about another manufacturing run. I am entirely pleased with the transaction.

Valman,
I need one ejector for mine (12 ga.), can't remember if it is right or left that I don't have on hand, as extras. I will be calling him soon. Thanks for the info. Think he might have the little cocking indicators?
OBTW, I've shot mine pretty hard for five or six years without a single malfunction or breakdown except for the top rib coming loose. This is common with them. Jim Clark at Simmons replaced mine.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

I've heard about broken springs too, but I've used this one for skeet and clays for close to 20 years with no otherfailures except for a crack in the forend. And I bought it used from another skeeter. I could not count how many thousands of rounds it has shot. I don't know about the newer Tikkas, but IMHO the old Valmets are tough guns --- the poor man's Krieghof, some say.
