Terry, Congratulations on the Optimus. I'm sure you are happy with it. She sure is beautiful! Very much different than when I looked it over in Vegas. Just getting the 100+ years of grime off did wonders. That old gun sure deserved better treatment in the past to justify the effort and time the masters put into building it. Thanks for taking on this project and for showing us the results. Chris

Terry, what sort of wood is that - you have extremely good taste.
Is it stained with some red color?

Brent,
This is still the factory wood from Lefever. They used "European Walnut" exclusively. It has a red stain, alkanet, I think; Keith did it, of course. He is off reducing the pig population, so I can't ask.

Beautiful gun, Terry. I'm glad you got the gun and took the route you did to its rejuvenation.

Terry, th old girl looks just great! Thank you for bringing a great old gun back to life. I'd love to see the gun in person someday, perhaps you will bring it to Reno if you make the trip again.

WOW, what a beautiful job that you and Keith did. I also thought that gun was maybe beyond hope. It's good that we have people like you Terry to see the finished project in an old girl.
