Anyone know how many guns Purdey made with detachable locks? They seem practically standard from H&H but I've never seen a Purdey with them before.

Detachable lock Purdey.

Far as I know, hand detachable sidelocks require only a one-sided wing on the retaining bolt head. Anyone think there is more to it? Has anyone verified that these are OE on the gun mentioned?

I had an L C Smith with that device. I'm sure it was not OE, so I think Rocket is right.

Did anybody else look at the pics and wonder how the wing would move past the ball fences?

Steve you do make a strong point. Unless they only turn 3/5ths and release the locks.

DH, so as to be clear, all locks are detachable. I imagine you are referring to hand detachable ones.

I had many of the same thoughts. Those levers don't look like they can move a full circle. I've never seen one like it.

Interrupted thread (cannon breech) or a cam lock. OK, they could be a micro ratchet, but I'd have to see that one.
