Does anyone here know what the Husqvarna factory specs were for 12 and 16 gauge bore diameters, as well as choke constrictions? Were they constant over Husqvarna production, or did they vary over the years?

I ask because I keep finding 16 gauge barrels 0,005 to 0,015 inches over nominal modern standard of 0,662. Perhaps they were all reamed lightly -- I cannot exclude this -- but, I am begining to wonder.

Thanks,
Niklas

My model 42 is about as original as you can get, and I do have its bore and choke measurements written down somewhere.
Off memory the bore was about 5 thou under nominal and choke about 45 thou in both.

My 1947-vintage 310ASE measures .667" in the right tube and .668" in the left, with .018" choke in the right and .030" choke in the left. My 12-gauge 310AS from 1918 measures .727" right and .728" left. When I got the gun it had .038" choke right and .044" choke left. Kieth Kearcher opened it to .010" and .020".

Thanks Greg and Researcher!!

Right barrel on my most recent Husqvarna hammer double is 0,667-0,668 and does not visually appear to be reamed. It is one of few cylinder bore barrels I have yet found on these guns. Could be factory -- that was a factory option. Left barrel is one of the 0,673-0,675 barrels that caused this query for information. Choke in this barrel is about 0,035.

Apparent barrel wall thickness in both is 0,035-0,037 inch after 20 cm from breach. Forcing cones about 2 cm long and both barrels show minor "throat erosion" for another cm or two.
