Name that gun. Its taken me awhile to find one and it even has very nice bores though there are some wood issues. That thing behind the receiver in the head of the stock is a repair. The buttplate is horn.

Harrington & Richardson? If I'm correct, please don't say right off....I'd like to hear other guesses...at first glance I thought Needham...

reb87:

It resembles a Birmingham boxlock a bit and the address is on the top rib, but I can't make it out. What about Lincoln Jeffries?

Kind Regards,

Not Harrington and Richardson but close in appearance. If that pinned head is original, and it appears to be, then I also vote for Needham as built by Greener.
Best,
John

This is very interesting. Yours is slightly different from mine.
The safety button is not the same and the word safe on mine are slightly curved.
I thought that I had seen some other subtle differences, but must be imagination.:}
My serial number is 40X. Maybe yours is a good bit apart in production date and that accounts for the difference.
Whatever---I think that you agree that it is a very fine shooter.
Best,
John
PS---Good call, Robert.:}
