A friend is to receive a Sterlingworth,serial #137699.Said to have good wood,blue and bores. 12 gauge. Any info would be appreciated.Thanks,retiredreb

King, I agree. I have some nice Sterlys that were made post Philly and I have always sort of enjoyed them and with less concern than with some early ones. I would love to see pics of a minty Sterly. Jake

If it fits in with the other 12-gauge Fox-Sterlingworths I've recorded in the 137xxx range it will have the taller Savage-era top lever, the capless pistol grip stock, the bulky forearm and 28-inch Special Alloy -- Forged Steel barrels. Great shooting guns. A minty one would be a find!!

The Sterlingworth is now MINE! He had no interest in a doublegun.It is better than stated .Great wood and unmarkd blue.Mirror bores,12 gauge,28 in.Havent checked chokes yet.Polished receiver with light engraving.Beautiful piece! Sorry,no pics.

Congratulations, you will love it. The stock dimensions may give you some fits, but you either learn to shoot with the drop or fit a slip on comb, or restock. Great guns, I have two of them and want more.
