I'm looking for something to shoot in side by side events for Sporting Clays. I know this is not the cheapest solution, but does anyone have any thoughts on this gun.

Hi, excellent gun. This model is designed for use in pigeon shooting. Heavier than the #2 so for clays should work out just fine. One of the top of the line SxS by AyA. Just down right excellent!!
Good Luck!!

Thanks, pigeon shooting is another one of my hobbies and I had planned to use it for that also.
Thanks,

HackCW,
Have an AYA 56 (32 inch) I've used for clays the last 3 or 4 years. Nice gun and I enjoy shooting it. Have had a couple mechanical problems. The right hammer broke last summer (currently still at the gunsmith) and had the top lever spring break the summer before. Came with an extra set of springs so the top lever spring was no big deal.
In defense of the gun, the previous owner ordered it new in 1980 as a duck gun - 3 inch chambers. He indicated he shot it a lot and with some fairly heavy loads. He also shot clays with it for several years. And I have shot several thousand rounds through it. Hope to continue to do so for many years to come. The gun still locks up like a bank vault.
I think you will be happy with one.

I have a Model 53e, which is essentially a field version of the 56, just a bit more slim and a tad lighter. I love the gun, mine is a 20 gauge, and has a piece of exquisite marble cake wood on it. Mine is used for upland hunting and clays shooting and performs very well. I believe the heavier version (the Model 56) might well be better for a dedicated sporting clays gun due to the added weight, but the Model 53 is a fine gun as well. I think you will be happy with the choice.
