Beautiful. And I love how you have been true to the creator. Did you have the action polished or bore work done? Regards, Jake

Mark Beasland did the polishing, but before he did he filed off the original engraving, tig welded the roll stamped "Sterlingworth" lettering on the sides of the action and also did the scalloping and rebating of the frame.

The chambers have been lengthened to 2 3/4" by Mike Orlen. The chokes are currently at .011/.018 but I will probably have Mark open them to .004/.007 as this gun will be used greater than 75% of the time as my 20-ga. skeet gun with a little time also in Wisconsin's grouse and woodcock coverts.

Scalloped is probably not the right word since the higher grades had scallopes at the rear of the receiver, but I am talking about a curved receiver at the front from the watertable down in front of the standing breech. Does that make sense

Improved Modified...If what you're asking is the leading edge of the forend iron on the Sterlingworth different than graded models the answere is yes in most, but not all cases. I have seen some Sterlingworths that have had this area rounded.

In the first pic below you will see the leading edge of the forend iron is straight vertically.

In this second pic this area on my gun has been rounded or curved by Mark Beasland to make this area just like the graded Fox guns . This adds sex appeal and makes the gun mo' better!
