Is there any markings on the gun? I shoot damascus guns, but only with 2 1/2 inch shells in light loads, modern day heavy goose loads in a "antique" firearm is not a good idea.

BD: I'm thinking this is a joke, but if not, you might share this pic of a STEEL brl LC after one duck load with your friend

There was something in that barrel to do that! I'll never believe that happened from just firing a Duck load.

I shoot mainly Damascus tubes, some 2 1/2 and some 2 7/8's. You need to match your chamber length. I wouldn't suggest igniting the magnum goose candlestick loads in any older double. Also, you many want to consider something other than steel shot for the tubes in shooting migratory birds.
Kind Regards,

I didnt post my question well!
The person I was referring to, understands that Modern Factory ammo shouldnt be used , and He thought only light ,low pressure reloads of correct lenght should be used, with Damascus.(7/8 or 1 oz target loads)
He (and I) was curious about a heavy PAYLOAD that would be low enough pressure to hunt geese with.
Gooser.

Gooser: Generally, I hunt geese with a 10 bore using 1 1/4 oz load. I shot some Hevi-Shot thru 12 bore HHL tubes this morning and on that note, I would check their load & pressure data or maybe purchase some of the "easy pour" Bismuth for reloading at http://www.huntersbismuth.com. Is the double a L.C.? I haven't been able to see the pic. Any idea of the chokes? Kind Regards, Raimey rse
