My 20ga. Bernardelli Hemingway was built about 1990 by the old V. Bernardelli firm, which shut down not many years later. Recently, V. Bernardelli has been resurrected under new management and/or ownership.
When the left tumbler of the Southgate ejectors in my old Hemingway fractured this summer, I e-mailed the company in the forlorn hope that they could provide a replacement part. To my amazement, I got a quick and positive response. Mr. Franco Franchi promptly sent me a full set of ejector springs and tumblers, air mail from Brescia, with instructions for fitting and hardening the parts. Best of all - he didn't send me a bill - just 'best wishes.'
Mille grazie, Signor Franchi! In this day of canned 'customer service', V. Bernardelli deserves accolades for really standing behind their products!
