I recently ran across a strange single shot 12ga "Semi-Hammerless" shotgun made by the American Arms Co. in Boston. I was referred here by some folks from gunboards and even though its not a double they said you folks know lots of info about this kinda stuff! I posted a link to my post with pictures on gunboards.

I'd like to know more info about this shotgun and also if the pattern on the barrel can be restored as the rest of the gun is in good shape and the wood is a fancy looking grade in great shape.

Thanks!

Jason,

Welcome to the board.

You have to be a member of that other board to view the photos. So, here they are, most of them:

According to Schwing they produced this gun in 10ga, 12ga, & 16ga with 28", 30" & 32" barrels.
It apparently has a rather high collector value for a single shot. In very good condition, about $1,000. It may be worth redoing the barrel.

Your gun is almost a dead ringer for the Remington gun produced on the same Whitmore patent.

Yes they've made some changes over there....i was not aware you could not see the pictures without being a member. I do appreciate you moving the photo's here so they can be viewed, and the great information in your post.

Thanks Again!

Jason
