Have an LC Smith quality 2E on hand whose barrels will not come off of the action. Cocked or uncocked, the gun breaches just fine but the barrels will not come completely free. This gun has the second style mechanism where there is a keyed rod inserted into the barrel lug and a flat spring and screw along the side of the lug. I suspect that the keyed rod may be inserted backwards. Either way, since this can’t be the first time an LC has ended up this way, does anyone know how to address the problem?
