I usually load 3/4 and 7/8 oz 12 ga loads for old SxS and was using Red Dot and Tight Wad but neither can be found. A thought ran through my feeble mind that I also load 3/4 oz 20 ga loads using 20/28. Maybe I could use a similar load but in 12 ga shell, cut down to 2 1/2". I am open to other suggestions.

Try Perfect Pattern. I see it available around me and online. They have data for 7/8 oz loads that might work for you.

Yep, PP is widely available and a little cheaper than most shotshell powders. Made for light 12 gauge loads. Only issue is that it is a lot denser than Titewad so you need to use (in Rem hulls) a 3/4 ounce wad for 7/8 ounce to get correct stack height, and for 3/4 ounces lead shot I use the same powder drop as for 7/8 ounce and add a Cheerio on top. From Hogdon reloading site: 2.75 inch Rem hull, Cheddite primer, CB0175-12 wad, 7/8 oz lead shot, Perfect Pattern 14.3 grains: 6600 PSI, 1200 fps. Perfect Pattern 15.4 grains: 7800 PSI, 1250 fps. And don't forget, you are going to have to go down a few bushing sizes compared to Titewad, so be sure to weigh a few drops.

I used to use International Clays for 20 gauge, but they don't make that any more I guess. I have about 40+ boxes of shells loaded and a bit left in my jar. So, I bought Hodgdon Longshot. I haven't used it yet. There seems to be plenty available and there are formulas for 1 oz. 20 gauge on the bottle with instructions to check their listings of all of there data on their website. So, I'll see. I still use my 1 1/8 oz. trap load for everything I shoot with a 12 gauge. Good luck.

Both Brownells and Ballistic Products have had recently Red Dot in 1 and 8 pounders. Pricey but it shows up sporadically.

I did find some Red Dot at AJ Supply in NW Ohio, but had already bought Perfect P and it was recommended for a light 12 load
