This must be the gun that Johnny from TGS was recently salivating over in the Holts December pre-view.

Looks like a - heavy - answer in search of a question to me.

Nicely done though.

6 lbs, 9 ozs, 1/3rd narrower than the Purdey 12 he compared it to in the video. The ‘Smith noted it was balanced and handled very well.

Best,
Ted

Green made a couple of triple barrelled guns for Westley Richards, and I remember looking at one at the Westley Richards stand at the London Arms fair at least 50 years ago.

They told me they had had a problem regulating the ejectors and they managed to find in Birmingham the, by then very elderly, craftsman who had worked on the ejection when it was made new before the First World War.

Apparently, after being revived by some cups of tea and sat at the bench he could manage a couple of hours a day fixing the problem before his concentration faded.

Eventually he succeeded, and as basic maths indicate that he must by then have been in his 80s if not older, there is hope for us yet!

I had submitted a reply to this Thread two or three days ago, but it seems to have disappeared again... I really need to start saving a copy of my posts so I can just repost again in a day if the first doesn't show up.

This is a very interesting gun (and video) Parabola. Thanks for posting it.

What I found most interesting was that it is a single trigger gun. I've never been a single trigger guy, so I naturally thought at first that there would be double triggers, and a selector to fire the third barrel, as we commonly see with German drillings.

Even more interesting was the gunsmith's description of its' function. I was unaware of any involuntary second trigger pull that shooters apparently make during recoil. He said that involuntary second trigger pull was what reset it for the next barrel. It must be a very consistent phenomena among all shooters, or this type of trigger simply wouldn't work. I am totally unaware that I do this, so it's fascinating to think that the trigger designer not only knew of it, but exploited that in his design.

Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug
