[quote=zehyani]Why are we fighting in Iran?[/quote
I have no "inside" information, so the rest is based on decades of dabbling in military history & military technology.
The airstrikes are intended to:
wipe out any nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, weapons sites & production sites
destroy military & political command, control & communication sites and equipment
destroy any remaining surface to surface and surface to air missiles and production sites
kill senior political, military & Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps leadership to disrupt Iran and to help prevent the further murder of those rising against the current government.
effect regime change
degrade Hamas and Hezbollah And maybe bring a little peace to the Middle East
I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.

Why are we fighting in Iran? You, aren’t fighting. But, they have been at war, with the US through terrorists, proxy’s, counterfeiting, and online mischief since 1979. Best, Ted

You're right, Ted, I'm not in the active fighting, but generally dislike war. Besides my taxes go to pay for everything. I agree their government is disgusting, but do not see it as our problem.

We know, not guess, we KNOW that Iran's regime was working towards attacking the United States with a nuclear weapon once they got it functional. Would you have had us wait until that happened and then respond? Not me.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

The world cries out for such: he is needed & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia

Iran has done terrorism through proxies for so long that they got quite good at it. My expectation was that they would more than likely see the bomb delivered to an organization that would happily put it on a leaky boat and run it up the Hudson River, detonating it near the Statue of Liberty.
I’m guessing when this is all over, we will find out how much damage was done to the Iranian nuclear program.
Best, Ted
