Birmingham proof (of course), cannot clearly make out the crossed halbards, there is possibly a "7" in the bottom position, serial number to follow...
75611. It is a 20 bore btw...
Vintage Doubles was the importer.

Grok: Serial 75611 falls in a higher range, pointing to production/sale likely in the 1920s to 1930s (possibly as late as the 1940s, though A&N firearms sales tapered off after WWII as the society evolved).

Mr. Roznak: I'd figured that it was likely made in the 1930s. If I could have seen the Birmingham proof mark better I could at least get a better estimate of it's production date.
Ed, I guess I'm just not ready to pay the folks in Glasgow for this information...

Kirby might have notes on the gun, Lloyd. Worth a shot.
Best, Ted

Llyod3, whenever I have enquired with the Glasgow Uni re A&N , they have always provided basic info (year of manufacture etc) without any fee or charge, followed by offer of detailed info/copies at a charge if required. Always found them very helpful. Regards, William Martin .

Thank you Mr. Martin:
I did not know that. This gun isn't mine so my efforts are peripheral at best.
Good point Ted.
