I would have asked what the LOP is before driving anywhere to look at it as a potential purchase, whether 100 miles or across the hamlet. Just common sense to ask if the barrels or the wood has been cut.

I had to go right past his house to go to Home Depot to get some light fixtures. So, I would have wanted to see the gun anyway. Not a big deal for me. I'm always driving around looking for guns. But after I saw it, I thought I would hold off on it. He probably won't sell it for a while- if I decide I still want it. Plus I have a feeling he might lower the price and I know one guy at the club with a kid who shoots who might want it. But he's out of town right now. Maybe I could put another pad on it and sell it. I'll just have to decide. A lot of options. But, right now I have two guns to get leather pads on, and I just got done doing a Silver Pigeon ll, so I'll hold off on it for now. Thanks gentlemen for all your help.

I bought a model 100 for my wife and immediately cut the stock and added a pad. That was that gun's most important purpose, and it worked very well for that. But as soon as I got it, I also put a search on ebay for a replacement stock. In short order, I found a c n c unfinished carved stock that fit it perfectly with only a few minutes of adjusting the inletting. I added a pad to that, and now I have stocks that fit both me and her.
I don't think I paid more than seventy five dollars for that butt stock.
