I thought I’d share this, and encourage others to please share some doubles as well. This is my smallest double, a very svelte J.C. Stahl & Sohn rifle in 6.5x58R Sauer. Digging around old threads, it’s tough to determine much on JC Stahl & Sohn, but I presume it’s fairly early, perhaps pre ww1 just looking at the features and such? The original proofing is gone, so no clues there since a new 6.5mm barrel set was added by Max Möller in April, 1944. I bought this one last year and have yet to shoot it, but I plan to soon.

Themauserkid, What is the groove diameter of your barrels? What Bullets and powder do you use? Do you make or buy your cases? I am interested because I also have a 6.5x58R S&S, only one barrel with that chamber, however. Mike

I have a drilling in that caliber. For my rifle making brass from 9.3x72R.works better, .Bertram brass is brittle and thin, using my C&H the Bertram brass won't hold a bullet I need to run it onto a 25p Sav die and then use my expander die.to bring it back up. The 9.3 has a think enough neck area to size and hold bullets.
My groove diameter is .260 and I size Speer 95gr .264s down. It will shoot .257s quite accurately but I worry about blow-by in a none replaceable barrel. It is quite accurate and I use it for coyote hunting in the thick stuff.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

The bores run .261, but I have yet to load for it or shoot it, so I have nothing to offer, but would otherwise be interested in any recommendations. The bores look just about as new, and it’s deep relief engraved etc. I had a Sauer years back, that was 16g/6.5x58 also.
