I have a nice Mauser rifle that wears a Wiesbaden Rod & Gun Club recoil pad.
Dated under the wood from 1976.

Was there gunsmithing available at the R&G Club or sales only?

Mike,
The Wiesbaden Rod and Gun Club had an "in house " gunsmith immediately after the war, but I'm not sure about in 1976. I was in Germany then but didn't visit the Wiesbaden Club. As President of the north Bavarian area clubs, I visited all the clubs there and only one had a gunsmith (who was an American member). By that time most large towns had A civilian gunsmith in the area. Maybe someone that was a member at Wiesbaden will see and answer your question.

It must have been quite an active club. I own and have seen more Wiesbaden Club recoil pads and the same logo on NSSA award patches.

Thank you for the help.
Discovered a significant problem with the rifle yesterday. May lead to it needing to be parted out. cry

Good gunsmiths are hard to find, but Weisbaden?
