I was able to make a buy on 5000 W 209, so am switching to that for 20 ga loads. I load 3/4 oz using 20/28 powder 13 grains. It is a pretty soft load primarily for my wife. Is the W primer hotter than Cheddite?

I used the 209s for 25 years. When they became scarce a few years ago I got the Cheddites. Now that the 209s are "back in business", I went back to using them. I interchange the two and don't pay that much attention. I can't tell the difference when I use either. I did have problems with the Cheddites not going all the way down into the ACTIV hulls. But other than that, I interchange them. I don't know which ones are hotter. Someone else will. Good luck.

Ever primer acts different with other powders. In the loads I use they are about the same as to velocity and pressure.
